Hi All,I have a 1990 convertible that starts but will not idle. The car starts great and i can keep it running by pushing the gas peddle but as soon as i let go the car dies. Any ideas on this and the car has just up and started doing this no prior incidents leads up to this. It probably does need a tune up and i have put a new distributor cap on but im just looking for some suggestions. Whats a good spark plug for these corvette with aluminum heads...Thanks for any info.

Kinda sounds like you may need to clean the throttle body, or there may be a vacuum leak somewhere. Could also be the idle air control valve. Need a little more info. Have you tried scanning it for codes?
Did you change the dist cap before or after this started happening?

If equipped with an " Optispack "located in the distributor , that is what happened to my '91

Opti-spark distributors were used on LT1 engines which started in 1992. L98s used standard distributors.
