Vette(s): 1989 Convert. It's HERE ! ! ! This is my first 'Vette. Most likely my last toy as I am 71 years old.
Embarrassed Hi all. I am about to put a set of PULSTAR spark plugs in my '89, C4, L98 and I am woundering if I should replace the spark plug wires ?  The car has just over 50K miles on it and except for the harmonics from the exhaust, it runs well.  I've checked wire prices and they run from $20 to $318 !!
Anybody have any suggestions as to what works and what to stay away from.....
     Big smile Thanks....

If it was me I likely would replace the plug wires, dist. cap and rotor and call it maintenance LOL I've seen wires go much longer and I've seen them go less. At 50k IMO  it's not a bad idea just for peace of mind. One more thing (if you haven't done it already) that gets neglected is the throttle body--it's a good idea to clean inside the bore and the blades periodically--mine gets done about once a year--that way it never gets REALLY NASTY. You may find it easier if it's never been cleaned to remove it for the first cleaning---throttle cleaner, some rags and a little time will work wonders. Ooops I've gotten long winded Big smile Short answer---Yep I'd replace the wires and then some !

BTW... I bought AC Delco wires for my LT1 from "thepartsladi" on ebay a couple years ago--$60-70 if my memory is correct. Personally I'd steer clear of $20 plug wires--JMO but there's a lot of garbage on the market nowadays.  Good Luck!

I'll agree with the use of AC/Delco wires. I bought a set of wires from a parts house for my '85 that wouldn't even ohm out NEW! Since I already had them, adn they were "Lifetime Warranty", I put them on. Needless to say, I had a few more misses than I had originally. A set of new AC wires fixed it right up.
Other name brand wires may be just as good/better, but I chose to go with the OEM supplier.

I took off a set of new MSD wires and put on a set of Magnecor wires.
They are racing wires, made for high temp applications, made for removing and reinstalling, and have no radio interference.

I have the set of 8mm red MSD's I would sell.......comes off my 96.
