DOES ANYONE KNOW ABOUT THE SPARK CONTROL MODULE ON A 84 WHAT DOES IT DO. ON A 85 AND UP THE SAME MODULE IN THE GM PART BOOK SAID ITS A SPARK KNOCK MODULE.

Depending on the year, and engine, it normally would control the advance/retard of the ignition. If the ECM detects "knock", or "pinging", it will retard the timing until it no longer registers the spark knock/ping. Not sure how the system is set up on the Crossfires, off hand, but this is basically what it does.
