It is almost Corvette season and in Minnesota, we can't wait!
I noticed recently that I have a slight leak below where I believe the slave clutch cylinder is located.
I had planned to replace the Master Clutch Cylinder this spring which also has a bit of a leak.
I own a 1992 Corvette LT1 Six Speed with only 48,000 miles so I believe it is probably an age thing.
Is this a complicated fix?
I will get the car up on a lift this spring when I take it out again and want to be planning for what I need to do.
If anyone has any experience with replacing these, I would appreciate all input.
Do you recommend a mechanic or is this something that I can do if I get the car on a hoist?

Hmmmm....does the '92 have the slave cylinder on the outside of the bellhousing(driver side) like the earlier cars? If so, it's fairly easy to swap. The hard part is bleeding it!

If you can put the car on a lift, it makes it real easy. I had to suffer with jackstands, but got the job done. Before putting the cylinder in I bench -bled it. that made the bleeding much easier.
Don't wait too long on the leak. Driving with the leaky slave cylinder causes transmission wear that could get expensive. That's why i got a good deal on my C4. I bought it with leaky slave and almost no second gear. I fixed the slave and can now shift (gingerly) to second. A rebuild is about the same price as a new transmission.

Thank you for the info.
I did take it to a local mechanic who did the job this past spring.
I understand that bleeding out the lines is a long and messy job
so I figured it would be best to spill on their floor than mine.
Everything works great.
