i posted on tires before and thanks for the feedback . with all the trouble with the 16" rim size do any companys make adaptors to put larger vette rims on my 85

There are adapters for that, and there are also direct-fit rims that look like the later rims, but with the correct off-sets for the early cars. Check with Mid-America, Bair's, or any of the Corvette parts vendors to see what they offer. The adapters might be a good deal, but then you'd have to buy the later style rims too, which might make the direct-fit upgrade a better choice.

Vette(s): 87 Red Coupe, not as pretty, had 213G miles, great running engine; got 20-21 around town, 27-28 on hwy; I got to drive a Vette, every day for 6 yrs. It was my first; so now I know what the fuss is all about. (Sold it 2015 for $3000, still ran great.)
I have an 87, which came with 16" wheels, but my wheels are 17s from a later year, maybe 90? They fit and work like they were made for it.
