I noticed after I drove away from a professional transmission rebuilder the odometer was not working. Not knowing where the connections are, could someone have missed something putting it back together? Also, the speedometer stopped working after about 15 miles later too? Also related?

Speed sensor was prolly not re-connected properly. The sensor is on the driver side, rear of the trans. Check to see that it is plugged in completely. Also, look carefully to see if the wiring at the connector is good. The insulation on the wires is susceptible to deterioration, leaving you with bare wires. Regardless, the issue is with the speed sensor. Take it back to them and have them correct the problem.
The VSS/speed sensor will look similar to this one.
