does anyone have advise on what to do about getting more horse power out of my 205 hp 1984 crossfire. i was concedering a cam headers just stuff. however i want to leave it stock looking  for ncrs judgeing.  theres got to be something to help this whimpy motor out. Cry its realy bad when a stock mustang leaves you sitting in the dust.

Porting the intake, I've read, is the cheapest and best way to squeeze more out of it...the ports are way too small, have a lot of flash and gas pools in the valleys wasting precious fuel.

NOX!
For about $700. you could get about 300 more ponies.
Yes, it's safe and you will feel it.
THEY, will see it.
You will see them, through your rear view mirror.
You'll have to reprogram your computer and I can't help yopu with that.
Fastest and cheapest way to gain HP.

Porting the CFI intake to match the head ports will help..seeing the difference in the size of the intake port and the head port will have you scratching your head.
Second mod... 1.6 rocker arms will increase valve lift somewhat without replacing the cam and will compliment the intake porting. The stock l83 cam is pretty mild so I don't think you'll have any "coil bind" issues using the stock valve springs. If I was you i'd contact Comp Cams they should be able to tell you exactly what you need to use.
Third "mod"would be to have a tuner reprogram your existing ECM "chip" OR burn a you a new "chip".....I'm unsure who to suggest you contact for this...I've used a online company called "Pcmforless" before but I don't know what they offer for the L83.
I don't know what the'84 has for rear gears...but a upgrade there will put a Big smile on your face. JMO
