Hi all,

So the overdrive on my '87 vette has stopped working, the light in the dash won't come on and nothing happens when I push the overdrive button.

I've got the service manuals but, they don't have any info on troubleshooting the overdrive relay or the wires that go into the overdrive relay. I've replaced the relay but the problem persists. Does anyone know if the wiring going into the relay can be checked with a test light or a voltmeter? Strange that the service manual has detailed info on checking the cooling fan relay but zip on the overdrive relay.

I'd rather troubleshoot that area then check out all of the switched on the transmission. Has anyone seen a troubleshooting tree on the overdrive relay?

I have the Nash OD troubleshooting charts on My Web Page, if it helps. Thumbs Up

Hi Joel,

The first page of the troubleshooting schematic opens and looks great!  I cannot get the second page to open.  I have an 84.  I figure it is similar.

Thanks for posting this,

Mike
