Auto Transmission Leak

The problem with snake oils like that is, it may stop a leak, or slow it down some, for a while. What those products do is swell the rubber, which makes the seals(and ALL the rubber parts inside) more flexible, and helps them seal better. The real issue is....when does it STOP swelling the seals? It doesn't. The rubber parts inside the trans, which includes the front and rear seals, shift shaft seal, and every single lip seal/lathe cut seal or moulded rubber part that seals pressure inside the clutch drums just keep swelling to the point that they actually just fall out, or disentigrate. In some cases, the seals will swell enough to actually bind the pistons in the drums, and cause slips, and other issues you did not have before.

If you need to stop or slow down trans seals perhaps just long enough to make a few more miles before rebuilding/replacing the trans, then by all means go for it. The poor feller that winds up having to rebuild it will curse you until the day you die, but ....😂

I did one just last week that when I removed one of the pistons from the drum there were NO seals on it at all....they fell off and stayed down inside the drum....more like rubber bands than fluid seals. My advice is don't do it unless it is an emergency, and you plan on having the trans rebuilt some anyway....because you will eventually have to have it done after putting that crap in there. Just my 2 cents. 🤠

btw...water/coolant in the trans does the same thing.....only worse. Water/coolant wil damage the plastic and electrical parts, also.
