I have a Polo Green 94 as well and it runs better when the O2 reads a little higher( 550-600ma).
That should be milliVOLTS, not milliAMPS.

Go for a 3 wire o2 sensor,it’s. Heated sensor and gives a more accurate fuel reading for the computer.My Vette also was running rich and this was recommend by TPIS tech.You will need to find a 12volt hot with the key on voltage,it even improved starting and mileage
