anyway, since i bought the 90 whenever i used the wipers they would extend past the windshield and wind up taking the black paint off. i posted a link for zip corvette that explained how to do it on a 93 and it said that it would be somewhat the same on others. they also said it was a common problem.
with all the snow and overtime i have not been working on the car. well tonight i went in and tackled the problem. the article from zip was a good guideline to start but they were a bit confusing (?) when they described things. i think if they had some pics with it it would have been even easier.
unfortunately i didnt have my camera so i have no pics either. if you have the problem with your wipers here's what to do.
take off the screen that is above wiper motor. where the arms inside connect to the link on the end of motor you will see first the drivers side arm and then the passenger side. on each of those arms you will see two 10mm nuts that hold the clamping bracket on the shaft.
i had to run the wipers and stop them when the nuts were accessible. i did the drivers side first. loosen the two nuts but make sure not to take the nuts off. the half of bracket on top has the elongated holes for the adjustment and that is what you slide to adjust the travel not the arm. i slid the top bracket towards the drivers side and then tightened the nuts. the wiper now stops approx. 1" from the window frame. i did the passenger side with the same results. the only difference was i slid that top bracket to the passenger side.
hope this helps anyone with this problem and if anyone needs a question answered let me know

One reason wipers will sometimes do the "kill the molding" dance is someone has replaced the wiper arm at some point, and didn't get them indexed back on the transmission properly.( the transmission is the post that the wiper arm fits on to.
