Vette(s): 1985 really nice !993 just bought

my drivers side window doesn't work in either direction, ordered a new switch assembly, just wondering what else it might be.

Haven't got the new switches yet, but just thinking ahead.

Thanks,

The window motors and regulators are usually the worst culprits on the C4's.  That's where I would start.  I don't know that I'd worry too much about the switch assembly, but testing for power at the wiring would tell you for certain.

Do you have power to the switch?  If there's power to the switch but none coming out then it's probably a bad switch.

But if there's power running to the switch it may be something else, like a bad motor assembly, or maybe just a bad ground connection.  On an older C4 it doesn't hurt to check the ground connections:  because of their stiff suspension setup they're notorious for shaking everything loose!
