Hello: I have a 1996 Corvette convertible that leaks badly. I previously purchased the weatherstripping for the soft top (not sure what material it is, latex or other...), thinking I could install myself. But then it became evident that the entire car needs weatherstripping replacement. I've finally found someone willing to install, if I obtain all the pieces needed first. I am currently doing comparison pricing and need some guidance. First, is OEM latex indeed the better choice...or EPDM? Have heard arguments for both sides. Second, is the 4 piece body weatherstripping kit offered at, i.e., Corvette Central, the only pieces I'll need? Thanks so much for your input! 🙏😊

I did the web research for my 91 and got confused with the wide range in prices and materials. I finally ordered a full set for my coupe from , The Corvette Rubber Company (Made in USA). Top notch quality and fit and priced right. Don't cheap it. Easy to use website.

Also, thoughts on whether "window sweeps" are necessary to replace? Never heard of them and have seen them offered for purchase on only one site. Thanks!

Vette(s): 1987 Corvette. Black exterior, Gray interior 42000 original miles.

I've done full restorations on many vehicles including 3 Corvette's. I personally used Steele Rubber Products for all my weatherstripping needs. I've tried using a couple of Corvette outlets only to be very disappointed. Steele Rubber has given me 100% confidence in their products. Just my opinion.
