grounding down the scraper i had (which by the way was for removing weatherstripping) to fit in the channel was the easiest for me. soaked it with carb cleaner and blade took it off. if you take them off the car you can always spray a coat of black trim paint on them before reinstalling.

After buying the weatherstripping, the stripper, and the glue and preparing to redo it all myself. I allowed my friends to influence me when they all said I would make more leaks than I fixed, so i found a reputable trim business and dropped the car off today. They have quoted me $150. for the entire job which i think is pretty darn cheap. Hope I did the right thing. Will let you guys know how it goes. Uhmmm that is $150 labor only using the weatherstripping and cleaners and glues I bought.Trooper 2010-11-02 19:42:12

Well i picked it back up today, with mixed feelings. The price was great, the car rides much quieter, the doors are harder to close because of the seal, everything LOOKS great and new. BUT, the car was a mess with hand prints all over the paint, all the windows were smudged up, and there was rubber powder from the old weatherstripping throughout the inside of the car. It will take me hours to clean it all back up.

i would bring the car back and tell them to finish the job. can't believe a shop would send a car out looking like that.
