THIS ROTS

i have a bronze tone roof for my car and today it cracked. don't know if the really hot weather we're having had anything to do with it plus the fact the car is 20 yrs old.  good thing i have the comprehensive on my insurance. at least it is only going to cost me the deductible ($50) to fix it.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck Dave--this has really been your year for exterior parts-painting etc.  As you say at  times like this-- as a car owner you really appreciate insurance coverage.

I had to buy a new top for my car when I bought it. The best deal and the best service I found was at Thompsons Astro Tops http://www.astrotops.com/ It is good quality at a resonable price. There is a core charge which is returned when he recieves your old top, and he charges $50.00 per side on weather stripping if yours is not in New condition. thanks for the info trooper. i have a one piece astro top for my 75. one of the main reasons i don't use it that much is no where on the car to store it. i really don't have to worry though as my insurance is footing the bill for a brand new gm top. it will only cost me $50.00 deductible. will be checking at the end of week for when i will be getting it.

you can't beat $50. for a new top. I hope I never need another one but if I do I hope it's for $50.
