On my 94 vert when you have the radio on and you open the drivers door it would shut off.  Not the case now.  With the radio turned off the light remains on for about 5 minutes and then shuts down.  Any ideas?  Thanks   Chuck

If the radio goes off as it should when the passenger door is opened---the drivers door switch contacts are likely dirty (fairly common on these cars)  On mine I used a aerosol can of electrical contact cleaner (from radio shack)--then finished it off w/WD-40 to be sure the plunger slides smooth/easily.

The switch( black in color) is located rear of the door and has a plunger and contacts which make and break the circuit when the door is opened/closed. Try the above and use your thumb to depress the spring loaded plunger a few times--sliding your thumb to the side and let the switch "snap" open. The switch itself may be bad or you may have other issues, but this is the first and easiest place to start.    Thumbs Up
