I'm planning a cross country trip and would like to use 100/90 bulbs with Hella headlights. I use these bulbs for years on BMW motorcycles and they are great. Has anyone used these on a '96 C4? I'm wondering if the altenator will handle the load without screwing up anything else in the electrical system? I know they are for "off road use" but properly alinged I never had complaints (flashing ) from other drivers. Dave

the only other thing you have to watch is if the wiring can handle the load. i know of people who went to the higher powered headlights and burnt up the wiring harness.

When I repaced the sealed beams in mine I went with the Hella 90/100 in the new lamp assemblies---I really like them (they work well w/old eyes

I agrree with Dave. I've worked on some cars w/aftermarket high powered bulbs where the terminals had been hot enough to melt the connector and/or the harness close to the connector. So this is something to keep in mind when doing this upgrade. Most times this has occured on newer cars which run the lamps all the time (DRL)--- There are aftermarket adapter harnesses designed to handle the extra heat/load of these bulbs which connect the bulb to the existing car harness.
