Vette(s): 1988 35th Anniversary edition. Number 1938 of 2050.
Hi,
I hope I am posting in the right area.  I recently bought a 1988.  The Average Fuel Mileage and the Instant Fuel milage are reading what I assume are default values.  99 and 0.

Turning that portion of the display on and off and the reset function does not clear the problem.

I have very little history on the car.  From just looking at the fuel injectors I believe they have been recently changed.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thank You,
Ron

ron, i would try disconnecting the battery for a while to clear the computer. try an hour and reconnect it and see what happens. might work.

Check ALL of your fuses, too.
This is one of the most aggravating things about these cars...all the star wars stuff on the dash that either works or it don't, and it's such a pita to troubleshoot.
One thing I would also suggest is the purchase of Gordon's(Gordon Killebrew) troubleshooting manual for the dash/cluster. It has all of the wiring diagrams, and tips on how to test each section to determine where the problem is, and how to fix, or get it fixed. You can get one from just about any of the sponsors here, or any other Corvette parts vendor. For about $30, it's a lifesaver sometimes! He also has a dedicated cluster tester, but it's a bit pricey unless you plan on using one for other folks, too.
