Does anyone have experience (positive or negative) with the Grand Sport style fender accent stripes sold by Mid-America or Eckler's? I'm thinking of getting a set in dark grey or silver for my black '84. I'm just worried that if I don't like them, they will peel the paint if I try to take them off. I guess if I park it outside on a hot sunny day they should be easy to take off!

most of the stripes on cars today are the stick on kind. the longer they are on the better they stick. i know heat will loosen them up but you have to be very careful. they also sell adheasive label remover in some auto stores. never used them personally but have heard they work.
is there anyway you can attach them without the glue so you can see how they might look?

WD-40 is the God of decal remover, if you don't like them. Removing unwanted decals is a commmon thing on Bikes. Start slow and spraying liberal amounts of WD-40 as you go. I have removed tons of "Yamaha" decals from fenders, and a multitude of the "Warning" decals from gas tanks and Windshields on both Yamahas and Harleys. It removes the Decals and the Adhesive without harming the paint.

I got mine here http://www.stainlessaddiction.com/inc/sdetail/494 See my picture
Happy with them, came with full instructions. I taped mine with scotch tape to see how they would look first. I went to http://www.vettextc.net/Misc/Hashmarks.html to find exact measurements for final placement.
Don't count on getting them off on a hot sunny day, mine have been on for awhile and they don't peel up or react at all to being out in the sun. jimmymack 2011-04-02 13:30:50

I love mine, adds a nice accent to the car, and it has the Grand Sport LT4 engine.. I had to replace them after I got caught in a heavy rain storm, I think I was hit with some hail, took a small spot of the vinyl material but left the backing on, came off easy with GM adhesive remover and replaced with a new one, can't tell..TerrySpielman5 2011-04-05 20:11:24
