I am a little concerned about potential ECM failure with no replacement parts.  I have read that GM no longer produces these parts (understandable) and that there are no aftermarket replacements and that experiances with reman or rebuilt parts are bad.

what is the future for our C4s when these fail?

does anyone have the same concern?

Reman quality is sporadic. I've got reman ECMs on both the '85 Corvette and my 'Burban. They've both been in service for several years, and so far, so good. The ones we get thru the shop are about 90% good. It really just depends on who does the work, and what the original issue with the ECM was. IF you're looking at remans, always check for warranty...if it's only like 90 days, it's prolly not gonna be a good quality unit. I think a company called Cardone does a LOT of the remans for most of the major parts houses. We've used a few of those with good results, too.

i got a reman through a chevy dealer and it it was no good. went down to the advance auto store by me and ordered one and it has been working great now for at least 2 years. as a matter of fact it was redone by cardone.
