Cruise control not working

The cruise control was working fine, and so was my radio.

When I stopped a couple hours later, the freezing fog kept the radio antenna from retracting - and stripped the plastic cable.

At the same time, the cruise control stopped working, but the fuse is fine.

Before I start hunting down the brake switch vacuum line and other things, does anyone know of a connection between these two parts going out at the same time?
