The CCM(Central Control Module) is located in the center stack of the dash...behind/under the stereo. It's a major pita to get out of the car, imo. If you only need access to the connectors, you MAY be able to worm your hands up behind it, after removing all of the panels that hide it.
Doesn't the VATS bypass just plug into the harness at the steering column?

Most of the VATS bypass kits just plug into the harness by the steering column.
C3: 1979 Corvette Coupe, Auto, L-48, Red/Doeskin (my wife's fave);
