Hey all, I just picked up new gas lid and front emblems for my '94. Before I put them on, I need to clean the surfaces and was wondering is there is a cleaner or method of cleaning that seems to work best.
Thanks!

Mild soap & water, and then a little wax should be fine.

I may be off base but if the emblems are self adhesive I would not use a wax before applying them, rather a wax stripper then a light alcohol (rubbing type) cleaner or equiv. for a clean surface. You want the least amount of contaminents on the paint as possible.

I changed the emblem on my 95 a year ago and I used "Goo-Gone" to clean the old adhesive off the vehicle. Use the Goo-Gone sparingly than clean area with mild soap and warm water. I than used a hair dryer to soften up the adhesive on the new emblem, applied the emblem and secured the speed nuts. Followed that up with an application of polish/wax around all the edges of the emblem. This process seemed to work well. The Goo-Gone will not attack the paint. Hope this helps.
