Clever yes???????

So my brake lights stay on all the time, turn signals work.  I changed out the brake light switch.,  New battery.  Could it be a hazard lights flasher can?

I am looking for an 84 wire diagram.

It's an 84.  I wasn't expecting to see Bubbas wire service, it has a Ford motor relay on the left side with a wire jammed between the lug pin and the socket.   Still eyeballing this contraption

Last one..... What is the relay also on the left side (driver) but closer to the firewall do

I won the car last December for 300.00(60 tickets) and brought it home 2 weeks ago.  Runs like a beast.

Back on the road.  Had it towed to an auto-electric shop and they repaired the rear lights and the radiator fan relay along with some other bubba nonsense.  Back to looking oem.

Dennis...check your e-mail. I'm sending you the complete OE wiring diagram. It is 4 parts. Files are large, and I do not know if they will all go onto one email, but Imma gunna try!

Did your brake lights go off when you removed the brake light switch?   There are two switches on the brake pedal.   Could you have replaced the one for the cruise control?

What is the relay also on the left side (driver) but closer to the firewall?

If you're talking about the relays in the engine compartment, the relay on the fender well, under the master cylinder, is for the radiator fan.   The one on the firewall, near the brake booster, is for the fuel pump.

I will have a little time this weekend to do more checking.  When I pulled the brake switch the lights stay on, manually activating the switch made no difference.  Pics are coming.

Finally some pics.   fomoco relay,  a black relay with broken wires,  and a nut job.   I'm thinking an issue with the black one and they rerigged with the ford one.     Still working on it as I get time.  Dang bubba.

Your brake light switch has an org and a wht wire.   Did you remove the correct switch?   Is the hazard warning switch (on R side of steering column) pulled out?

That FoMoCo relay has nothing to do with your brake light question.   Let's solve one problem at a time!   That FoMoCo relay is a universal automotive relay, so there's no reason to be alarmed by the brand name.   That relay, being forward of your alternator, is more likely to be a modification of your fog lights circuit.

Finding more bubba crap.  Positive battery cable just came apart in my hands.  It looks like big b put the terminals on and then used a hammer to try and crimp them.  more test shows a fusible link blown.  Since I have trouble getting under the car due to muscles and bone issues I am going to have it towed to an auto-electric shop on Monday for repairs.

Why do people monkey with the electrical on these cars?      I also found a vacuum hose with a bolt in it.

I have a question, too.   Why would someone expect to get a primo car for a couple of raffle tickets?   Didn't you expect a challenge?

😎
