The power seat controls don't work any more. Well, some things work, but not all features are available. Any advise or helpful hints as to how I can diagnosis the problem and fix it would be appreciated.

Eddie,
Silly me, of course you need more inforamtion.
I have the sports seats. The only feature on either the driver or passenger side is the vertical move - toward or away from the dash/steering wheel. I've attached a photo of the controls.

Does this help?

hey rita,
not silly, just want your vette to be in top condition. from looking at my electrical service manual for my 90, there is a 30amp circuit breaker that controls the lumbar part of the seat. in my manual it is labeled power accy. check your manual for the fuse panel diagram. if you think it is the switch you would have to get to the wires and check if power is getting to the switch and going thru to the lumbar pump. dont know how mechanical you are but not that hard.
good luck
dave

Dave -
Work has had me kinda busy, not complaining though - I'm glad to have a job!
I'm pretty mechanicaly inclined as long as I have instructions. I have a Haynes manual but unless I'm just missing it I can't find any help with the power seats. I don't want to just start taking things apart.
Appreciate your help.

rita, haynes and chilton manuals are ok for general stuff but the gm service manual is the best thing. i will check tonite and see what's in my manual. should be relatively the same. got to love a woman who is mechanically inclined and also follow instructions
. will check manual later.

Wish the men around here felt the same way! Most are intimidated by my independence. But that's okay, my dad raised all his daughters to have the ability to understand enough auto mechanics they at least won't get taken at a garage.

I'm looking forward to hearing what this turns out to be. My '89 forward/back stopped working on the drivers side about a year ago (up/down is okay) and I need to fix it someday. I'm the only driver so it hasn't been a big deal, but at some point I want to let my 18 yr old daughter drive it (like in a zillion yrs hahaha)
