Most of the time my 91 coupe radio LCDs flash on and off when in power on. Sound on and off at same time. Seems like power comes and goes. I have pulled the radio and played with the wires while connected, could not create the issue or stop it. LCD time stays on but flickers when radio is off ????
I appreciate any help.

sounds like something inside the radio is bad. check to make sure you have a good ground connection.

The clock power should be coming from a separate fuse from the radio power....I think.
Does sound like a bad connection there, or a bad ground. Is this only happening while driving? That's what it sounds like from the description. I'd be betting on a loose ground, myself. I'd have to check the wiring diagram, tho, to be sure....
