Vette(s): 1981 C3 Two Toned paint, beige and brown, Bowling Green, Kentucky
I have a 1981 corvette produced in Bowling Green Ky. The paint code is D84 which is upper beige and lower bronze(brown). My VIN is 1G1AY876XB5100093. Does anyone know how many cars were painted that year with this paint? Does anyone know how to what my car with this vin number?

In the Corvette Black Book there are dashes (-) in the column for the number of two tone paint combos made. A bullet note below the list of color codes states that the two tone quantities are included in the single code counts. So not much help there. Archives at the NCM might have more info.
On the Research menu drop down list is a link to a Corvette VIN decoder. Plug in your VIN to see the results.
Also on the Research menu drop down menu is a link to the C3 Corvette Birthday Calculator. Again plug in your VIN to see the results.

I’m not familiar with the Corvette Black Book or the NCM (does NCM stand for National Corvette Museum?). If I’m reading your response the CBBook has the number of cars produced with each two toned color combinations. I believe there were just four combos offered. Thanks for your input.

Yes, NCM is the abbreviation for the National Corvette Museum. The Corvette Black Book is a nice resource to have as it has a two page summary of each model year. Not the "be all, end all" of information becuz of its size but gives the highlights. My copy (1953-2013) cost $19.95 new (I got it for less on "FleaBay"). Older editions can be found there for under $10. The latest edition is listed on the CBB website for $25 and is probably the same price in bookstores or other outlets.
You are correct that there were four two tone combos offered for the 1981 model year, but as noted in the CBB they were not counted separately. While it states that the two tones were included in the single code counts It isn't clear which paint code the combo was added to (upper, lower or both). The NCM archives or the NCRS (National Corvette Restorers Society) may have a better breakdown.

*the above is from from my copy
