Just got the Jan/Feb issue of America's Sports Car mag.
I quote:
On display in the NCM Design Area for the next few months is the seminal XP-755, or Mako Shark, on loan from the GM Design Center. Designed by Larry Shinoda using elements of the not-yet-introduced 1963 Vette and XP-700 show vehicle, the car drew its inspiration from a Mako Shark that design chief Bill Mitchell caught off the coast of Florida. Mitchell wanted the car to be painted to look just like the fish, which he had mounted in his office. After several failed attempts, his staff quietly borrowed the mounted fish and repainted it to match the car.
Unquote.
Anyone visiting the Museum in the next few months, please take a picture of this SHARK and post it here.
