I've seen this car. The last time I saw it (a few years back), it had 7 miles on the odo. At that time it was being auctioned but was a no sale due to the reserve the seller had on it. Sadly, it seems to be pertpetually for sale.

I sent an express mail letter to the CEO of GM last week asking him if there was one specific person I could talk to about the history of the 78 Pace Car. I didn't even know if I'd ever hear back from him but I tried.
Today when I got home I had a message on my answering machine, I have a phone meeting with an Excecutive Assistant to the CEO of GM at 10am in the morning 
Hope he has some good info for me.
