Vette(s): 1978 Silver Anniversary Edition - California car. I ordered in Dec 1977, received Sept 1978. All available options were ordered except for tow hitch. Black interior.

I see so many articles about the Pace car (same year), but why are there very few articles or comments about the 1978 (25th) Silver Anniversary Edition Corvette?
Looking at this Forum "Special Edition Vettes" the last article I see is from 14 years ago....

Vette(s): 1972 LT-1 convertible with factory air. 2017 Black Rose Grand Sport M7 convertible.

It's not a rare car, I ordered one too. They made 15,200 of them.  That's my explanation anyway.

Yea, I know they overbuilt for that year, but the name of this particular forum is "Special Edition Vettes"...
The 25th anniversary was sold as a special edition... and that was why I bought it new back in 1977....

 Just Saying.... πŸ™ƒ

My 2 cents says it is a Special Edition. Not a standard Vette. Special features and options make it a Silver Anniversary model, therefore Special Edition.

This thread was actually started in 2021. There are plenty of posts in this C3 Special Editions forum since then. To have content in this forum, please need to post questions, stories, projects, etc. Then there will be newer content in here.

Vette(s): 1978 Silver Anniversary. Restored in 2012. All new 'complete' suspension f & r, engine, trans, exhaust, interior. Car is driven - garage kept but not a trailer queen.
I 2nd that emotion.....Have loved it since I bought it in 1995 as 2nd owner and have spent WAY to much money on it (just ask the wife (boss)) since then. But she does love riding in it, so there's that....

Every 78 had the Twenty Fifth Anniversary emblems on the nose and tail.

Correct, but 15,283 were produced and sold as "Silver Anniversary " editions with special options and the Charcoal Silver and Silver Metallic 2-tone paint.

We haven't gone the last 3 years, but before that, every year since 2012, we had been attending the Corvette Expo in Tennessee. The number of C3's were always small and in all those years, even though 15,200 of the specific 'Silver Anniversary' edition had been produced for 1978, ours was the ONLY one in attendance.
