Water/alcohol injection systems are still used on some under powered turbine helicopters to bring down power turbine temperatures. If you have a helo that has high EGTs at sea level it becomes unusable at high density altitudes because the turbine temp and EGT is near redline. That's a no-no for sure. I don't care to fly those machines, but the system does work.

If this doohickey increases mileage by 22%, why wouldn't the manufacturers integrate this into production vehicles. Joel, I think you're onto something with the cost of platinum.Lamp

The mfgrs won't use it because of the NIH syndrome..."Not Invented Here". Plus, there is the issue of having to replenish the solution used, in whatever system it is. Most people today can barely remember to change their oil once every year...you think they're gonna remember to add some poop to the bottle under the hood? doh
