Splicing Fuel Line

Has anyone ever spliced a section of the fuel line.  I'm getting some seepage in front of the wheel well on the frame where the lines "L" .  Can I just cut the line and do some sort of splice?

I know I know, replace the whole thing, but to do that I gotta take the body off...I'm not ready to do that this year. I'm not near the car right now but if I can get the parts I can do it this weekend.  does anybody know what size line is?

Hey JimG,
Can't see why you couldn't use a double ended compression fitting to splice the line back together.  Not like its under extreme pressure(we use them on brake lines on our race cars)... as for the size of the fuel line, i'm not sure...

You can splice in a short section of rubber fuel line with no problem, in a pinch. Just make sure you get hose that is specified for use with fuels. The main fuel line is 3/8", I believe. The return line and vapor lines are 5/16".
A compression union would be better, if you are working on an area of the line that is straight.
