Vette(s): 1978 25 anniversary blue on blue with T-tops.
I am replacing my condensor and accumulator. I was told there is some sortof mineral spirits or something that I am suppose to add to the system while I am installing the replacement parts. Is that correct? If not is there something I do have to add before I try and change the system after all is back together?

From what I remember my 76 system took a total of about 11 oz. 4 oz for the compressor change, 2 for the evap change, 2 oz for the cond change, around 2 for the receiver drier(VIR) change. Type of oil will depend on if the system is R12 or R134. I used Ester Synthetic with my R12 system. One of the more knowledgeable on A/C systems may have more to add.
