Replacement mufflers for side exhaust sys

You might want to check out the Stainless Works in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. I know they make a toned down replacement.

Stainless Works in Cuyahoga Falls?  Do you know where?  I think I need to go by just for the heck of it.

Although I have to say the Hooker Aero Chamber mufflers are very vocal, but not too loud.  Very nice sound.  I like them.

Ben gave a link to a business that did side pipe or slip in chamber mufflers a while back, but I can't find the thread.

 Does anyone know if they make a replacement muffler for the Hooker sidepipes in stainless steel? That seems to be another drawback to mine. The muffler rusts inside the tube and I have had to replace the tubes and mufflers twice. I've heard that if you take them off and take the muffler out when you store it for the winter they last a while longer, but who does it?

great sound, can find a clip and a video in the thread called "chambered exhaust", look for the post that mentioned Spiral Turbo.  better flow than the Hooker mufflers, so not as much reduced performance.  little bit pricey, but not bad, s'where mine came from.  check em out!

A while back I sent a sidepipe muffler to classic chambered exhaust...he made chambered exhaust that can be slipped in..  I never bought them because I decided change mine backto reg. exhaust..http://www.classicchambered.com/

If you get the exhaust good and hot before the last run of the year, it will dry out and last longer.

As the system heats and cools it builds condensation.  The moisture rust the systems from the inside out.  Multiple short trips warm up the system enough to build more moisture, but not enough to dry it out.  You can often see water spitting out of an exhaust when a vehicle is started.  Make the last run of the year a good long one. 20 miles will usually do it, but maybe more.  It depends on how far the throttle is open, and how much water build up you have.

You could let it idle for an hour, but that's WAY less fun.
