replacement for in tank pickup tube filter for 70?

My filter crumbled in my hand when I pulled my pickup tube gas guage sender assembly. What can I use for a replacement? I have no intention of replacing the whole assembly!

You can buy the strainer separately from the big catalogs. Also CarQuest carries them, if they don't list the Vette try a 73-86 Chevy pickup.
