hi,
does anyone know what size radiator core support i need for my 71 coupe?
i have a 454 so i know i need one for the big block, but what do i look for?
distance between supports, 26.5 or 27.5" ??
is there anything else i should look for?

Are you refering to the entire metal cross piece that runs between the frame rails or just the rubber rad. supports. On the later models the only difference between the 2 radiator sizes (3 or 4 row) are the rubber supports. Either one could fit in any car if desired, by changing the rubbers.

All big blocks take the wider, 27" core support...
There is a difference between the automatic and 4speed supports too, I think...

thanks,
the dimension is between the center to center of the lower mounts that the radiator sits on.
( the two arms that stick out )
the one i took out of my 71 vette measured 26.5. that had an LT-1 in it before i got it, i'm putting in a 454 now. I aslo have a 4-speed, so if anyone can tell me if that also may make a differance, please let me know.
thanks again.
