An off the topic question but when people go out to buy any year vette or vehicle in that matter make sure they come with an owners manual?   I know when I was looking for mine I made sure it came with one.   No hardship Ray and everyone else.   Just a question.

Vette(s): 1975 C3 Red, T-Tops, Black Interior. All I need is time and money! Getting there!

Many many cars are sold without the owners manual.  The older the mor often it happens.

For every 1 pound of pressure, the boiling point of coolant will rise 3 degrees.  15 lb cap raises boiling point by 45 degrees.

not to mention that alot of information in an owners manual on an older car can be technically inaccurate nowadays.

Think about the advances and changes made in Fuel, Oil, Brake Fluid, Trans Fluid, PS Fluid, Coolant, etc etc etc since 1969.

[/QUOTE] None taken either Mike.. I'm always open to advice, but I looked in both my manuals (did not check owners manual tho) and didn't see anywhere about the cap pressure, but I may have overlooked it. I have been having problems with  water pumps and just wanted to make sure I had the right cap.Mine was marked 16 PSI. I did check my cap with a Stant tester and it was lifting about 15-16 psi...

Informative sight on the importance of a radiator cap...
