Vette(s): 1972 Coupe Anything, but Stock and more mods to come! SSBC Force 10 Brakes, 3.73, TH350, 355 CID, Rack and Pinion, Vette Brakes suspension front and rear.

Just so you know the Aero Chamber is a chambered design, but its not just a bunch of fins welded inside of a case rattling exhaust gases around.  Its a fully engineered and technically designed muffler that was designed using everything Hooker knows about exhaust gases, exhaust pulses, stepped tube technology, and exhaust gas expansion.  A recent article in popular hot rodding points out in their testing that the Hooker Aero Chambers result in no power loss on their engine.

I had another magazine tech editor tell me he tested them on a 700 HP Big block and the Hookers only resulted in a 1% power loss on a dyno (7HP).  He tested other mufflers and said the results were not pretty.  They lost big power on the same engine.

Thats not to saying you shouldn't use those as they are significantly better then stock, just not as good as the hooker piece.

The Flowtech pieces are not chambered, but they work well also.  I have seen dyno numbers on them compared to other brands and they can hold their own at a fraction of the cost of some much more expensive mufflers on the market.

Yes,

The May 2005 issue, The article starts on page 56 talking about exhaust systems and exhaust system science.  On page 66 there is a cutaway photo of the Hooker Aero chamger and the quote.  its states

" Our tests showed these well-made 2.5-inch units to be good for no loss on a 375HP engine, while delivering a conservatively sporty, yet authoritative, exhaust note."

Very good article. You all should read it.

I am running a a chambered exhaust (similar to the power stick )through ceramic coated hooker headers with  hooker dual pipes with  resonators and a gear drive. I love it ....not too loud of an idle but at speed has a nice deep throaty sound. With the gear drive kind of sounds like a plane taking off.

At first I wondered if I made the right choice but after hearing it ,"Made my day!"

I'm running Flowmaster 40's through ceramic hookers and I gotta agree,
the sound is nice and gutteral at idal and good and evil sounding on the
road. The other day I drove by a cop on the side of the road writing a
ticket. He heard the deep thunder, turned, then smiled and gave me a
nod and went back to writing!!

Those kind of numbers are very impressive.  With the sound in those clips combined with the flow, it sound like a hard package to beat.  Very nice.

Vette(s): 1981 - 59 Beige over Cinnebar leather. Edlebrock top end, 2200 stall w/shift kit, 3:55s, Mufflex maniback exhaust, nice stereo, 16 in AREs w/BFGs
Just my 2 cents...  Check out Mufflex-performance.com  Every muscle car shop and car owner around here HIGHLY recoomended these guys.  In shipment my Vette had the front Y and left muffler damaged.  On everyones advice including my mechanic who lost the repair on this, I called Mufflex.  I spoke to a tech named Denny who hooked me up with exactly what I needed, not exactly what I wanted.  I like when someone really knows what you really need.  They have everything from complete custom systems to nuts and bolts.  Long story short, I'm having a header back system complete w/ freeflow cat and nice throaty mufflers INSTALLED for 1048.00.  I'll see them in 3 weeks.  They have every muffler for every application and really know their stuff.  Nice guys too.!  Let us know what you decide, Regards!  KeBo
