The coil most likely will be fed thru a ballast resistor, that is if you still have a points distributor. In which case you won't get a full 12 volts. Personally I would bite the bullet and go under the dash, with a fused line.

That's correct if you have a stock ignition then the + coil side is reduced voltage because of the ballast resistor. You can still hook up to the 12V side of the ballast resistor if you don't want to crawl under the dash. Which means some work on a 68..I know I have one too. If you do hook up to the ignition switch you can try taking the top dash off & if you're carefull & have small hands you can connect to the ign switch from the top. Just be sure to disconnect your battery first. You can also get your power from the fuse box on the floor, but it's hard to get to also. If it was me I'd just hook to the Ballast resistor then drink a beer.

Thanks Alan, I went to the fuse box, all is wired and Wednesday we are going to fire it up.
