I am replacing everything on my air conditioning system except for the evaporator coil, which was pressure tested and flushed. My problem is that the new accumulator, from Ecklers, has a shrader valve that the original did not. When I tried to put the coolant recovery tank back on it hits this valve. Now what do I do?

I believe that the one with the extra valve is the current service replacement. Can you tilt the accumulator in towards the engine a little? That bracket has a little play in it's location. I guess it's already charged? Other than that you may have to switch to a later bottle.

I finally got the coolant recovery tank back in with a lot of swearing, prying, pushing, and did I mention profanity. I was ready to buy an after market tank that I saw in some of the speed catalogs, and might have to if the extra valve rubs a hole in mine. This must be a universal replacement part but it's not really made for my 82. Will report back when I have the system charged and the Vegas summer sets in. I've read all the pros and cons about changing over to 134, but I really want to do this.
