I feel unless your going to add a cam, intake, carb, headers aren't worth the cost. Keep in mind you should buy a good set of gasket$ and header bolt$. I would keep the stock manifolds and go true dual.

Headers for me. I like the look, sound and performance.

I put full length Hooker fully coated headers on my '81 and we noticed an immediate gain in power...

Hooker nest of snakes side headers are nice. Great sound but can do a number on your legs if you are wearing shorts and aren't careful. Also '69 factory side exhaust looks great and sounds great. Good luck on your project.

Thanks again for the input Guy's!
My headers I scored on Ebay arrived yesterday!
They are FlowTechs/by Holley. Ceramic coated. $247 with shipping!
So now I have all winter long to put them on, and all winter long before I can test them out.

Dude-I have the Mid-America straight pipe chambered exhaust system, running off of my ram horn manifolds.
They sound cool at idle, not too loud, but with that "What size is it?" sound, as in, you can't tell it's a small block. BUT, open 'er up, and wake the dead!
Still way cool, and alumnized, so it will last a long time.

I put the chamberd pipes on my car, was not pleased with the fit. If you dont have a shop to put them on you will be cusing for days. They are LOUD!!!!! just like stright pipes. I inserted the baffeles from JEG'S which makes it much nicer. Good Luck.

I put a set of chambered exhaust on mine from the Stainless Works (Chagrin Falls,Oh). They have a great deep sound that gets lots of compliments. The fit was great, only mod was at the rear hangers for length. I really wanted the original side exhaust but the cost has put those on hold for now. Good luck on your project.
