Back in 2005 I was buying parts for my resto-mod on the 80. I purchased a set of Mam polished stainless steel mufflers based on looks and sounds. Fast forward to this week.
There is less than 5 hours of total run time on the engine since I started it on Nov. 08 and the sounds coming from the mufflers are progressively worse. It sounds like broken baffles or chamber issues.
I called Mam and then wrote a letter detailing the problem and they called today to make things right with me. A big thumbs up for them
. They gave me full credit towards new mufflers. $200.00

So my choices are limited from the catalog... stay with SS set... credit + 100.00 or... I am looking at the KBD twin tip targas. Any thoughts on those???
Maybe I should look into corvette disaster insurance.

The "Targa" mufflers sound too much like a rice burner..."Brrrraaaap", imo. They'd be otay on a Lotus, or Austin Healy...
Heck...get somethin that will last longer than what ya got.
That's just silly that they fell apart like that.
How bout goin with the chambered set-up? Those things are SWEET!
Hey Dennis...you sure you ain't got a 'nanner stuffed up in them mufflers?

I've got chambered true duals on mine and love them. Some people here at C3VR think this arrangement transfers too much noise to the corkpit, but I don't find that to be the case. I think my car sounds like it was meant to sound. Just my opinion.

I agree with Scott. I also have Performance Choice chambered exhaust. Sounds like a mid year with side pipes, the way a vette was ment to sound. Dennis, I hope you get that car running I want to see it.
