Ok, now I've found that I'm missing a piece of sheet metal on my 72 no AC, 4 spd small block. If you can help me properly name it maybe I can locate one....so here's the descrip: It mounts by 2 small screws left and right to the upper rad core support. It fills an opening between the top of the core support and the top of the rad. It will run between a portion of the fan shroud, at the very top. It will be maybe 4" tall and full width of the core support...like 32" or so. It would assist in forcing air through the rad vs. going over the top of the rad.

Thanks,
Dave

I'm looking in a Corvette Illustration Catalog from Sept 1977.  It pictures said bracket but no part number or discription is given. There are two holes by the center to bolt the rad. support thru it to the rad. support bracket.  It does not appear to be much extension towards the radiator ( maybe 1") to funnel wind thru.

Looking at a '68 AIM, I would call that the Upper Radiator Baffle. '68 part number was 3930127.  hope this helps.

Cool. Good place to start. Thanks! Wish I had a vette wrecking yard around here....no such luck. I suppose if I can't find one I can make it.

Sounds like it is unique to a '68.

Yep, not compatible but thanks for the effort. I'll get a good look at where /how it mounts and maybe make one up. We have sheet metal shears and brakes at the shop. I'd rather spend $75 than 3 hours making patterns and piece mealing something together though...ya know?

I'm going over to my local C3 corvette junk yard I will take your description with me and see if he knows what you are talking about and see if I can get a picture and price for you.  If you have more than a few of those types of parts you may want to take a long weekend and drive down to San Diego.

Ok I just got back from my C3 junkyard.   Good news Dave, he has what you want.  Steve does not know what you call it but when he read what you wrote he knew exactly what it was.

What is it? Steve said he sure that for all 72-74 non-AC cars use the same part.  They all had smaller radiators than AC cars and this item was used to make up the difference in the size so that air would flow through the radiator.

Just as you said.

If you are interested the cost would be $40 plus shipping and he will take a picture of it so you can confirm it is what you want before you by it.  He just does not want to dig it out unless you are still interested in it for the price he wants.

If you are interested PM me and I will give you his contact info.  (Cell phone and email)
