Making progress towards the goal of getting the old 400 engine out. Last night I took out the fan shroud, radiator, and radiator support. Here's a question - does anyone have a ballpark on what it costs to have a radiator pressure tested and rodded out? If it's a significant amount, I'll just bite the bullet and get a new one. I've been looking at an aluminum replacement for DeWitts. Any feedback good or bad on them? Here's the one I'm looking at: http://www.dewitts.com/pages/productdetail.asp?ProdID=272

Car is an original 350, manual transmission, no air. The crate engine going in develops 375 HP. Does this radiator look like it will do the job? I'm also going to order replacement shroud seals, radiator cushion's, etc.

Thanks for the feedback. Hope the members in PF are having fun. Wish I could have gone - I grew up 1.5 hours north of there.

I'd say $75.00 to $125.00 is pretty fair

John, I have about $ 225.00 invested in a new copper and brass radiator. I have about $65.00 invested in new radiator seals. My local radiator shop stated they wouldn't recore the old one, just sell me a replacement. The one I got was a 3 core and looks pretty good in quality. Did you read my post about the radiator support problem in the drive line forum?

Dave

Dave - I did read your other post. I like your procedure and will use it to check out the inside of my radiator support. Hopefully it's in good shape.

I've have one from DeWitts. It's been in for a couple of years now w/o any problems. Very nice product, great fit, runs cool and should last another 30 years.
