I searched first but found no thread on this issue...
I am installing an edelbrock electronic choke carb on my 383 build and I have a TH400 trans, my question is this....
I read somewhere that in order to use the edelbrock carb on the automatic I have to use a special throttle cable bracket from edelbrock, as well as their solenoid for the air conditioning.. anyone heard of this??

Don't believe everything you read.
Your 400 automatic does NOT require, nor is it equipped with a cable from the throttle. The 350, and 700 transmission do have the cable. The 700 MUST have it...on the 350, it's only function is for passing gear.

The idle solenoid will be needed if you plan on actually running the A/C, whether it is from Edlebrock, or somewhere else.

Sounds like some one got their transmission numbers mixed up..keep the 400..I love the 383..you can believe what you read here..I haven't seen anything Joel posted about a transmission that was remotely off..dead on again! Have fun with the new carb..
Welcome..
