I am going to install a Weiland 8004 intake, and use my stock Q-Jet.  The cam is a VooDoo.  Third step up from stock.  About 6 weeks from now I will have time to get to it.

I run the Weiand 8004 on my '72 with the stock Q-jet carb. I also am running a 485 lift, 282 duration cam (which is too big) I just got done putting a 350hp 327 cam in my son's truck(350 target motor with double hump heads). Crane makes the Muscle Cam Series, also PAW has the same grind in the SSI (house brand) for $89.95 with lifters. I used the SSI cam with Weiand high rise and a 600 Holley with electric choke. One push of the gas pedal when cold and it fires right up. Has a nice lope at idle and a great torque band. The cam is 447 lift, 222 duration. I'm thinking about putting this same cam in my car. With the Weiand 8004 and stock air cleaner I have no hood clearance problems at all. The Edelbrock Performer manifold, I think #2001, should fit also.

i think the voodoo 262/268 or 268/276 is a great street cam..

for mild street..  q-jet is fine.  for "performance" id change to a holley or demon
