Ok, I know this sounds dumb but, How do you mount the Vacuum Can for a 80 Vette? I see the center rod and I can put it there where the AIM shows but, I am looking for Ideas. If there is a better place for it and what did Chev use to mount it to the center rod.

I assume you are referring to the headlight vacuum can?  Your 80 is probably like my 82 and the round  diagonal rod in the center front of the car should have a wrap around band welded to it which holds the can in place with one bolt which fastens on the bottom.  I replaced my can a few months back and when the new one was delivered it had a flat mounting plate crimped to the side of the can.  I uncrimped and removed the mounting plate and used my original rod and band to mount mine.   If the band is not present on your stock center rod, you may be able to use small clamps to fasten the new can to the center rod using the crimped on mounting plate. Before mounting the new can, check to make sure all of the ports on the vacuum fitting on the can are open. One of mine was blocked  when it arrived and I had to drill it out. Crossfire19822008-05-07 05:57:46

Thanks.

Do you have a Pic of what yours looks like under there? I think mine must have been in a front end crash. I have weld marks on my Frame in the front. All I have is the Bar in the middle and nothing attached to it..

I also wondered about the "in" hole in the Can I bought from ZIP.. and they told me it was there for shipping, So nothing could get in. and it is just silicone and can be removed..

Ill send a pic but it will probably be tomorrow.  Well, perhaps thats the same thing with mine but I cant see why one out of 3 would be plugged. I used a small drill bit to start a hole in the plug and then used a sharp screw to gently screw into the starter hole to pull the plug out.

OK, got a couple pics for you to look at.  It's kind of difficult to get a camera under there so this is as good as I can do.  from the bottom from the top
