I currently have dynomax short headers on my 71 vette. How much of a gain, if any, will i see by adding the hooker super comp equal length headers?? Tks,

Brandon

Edit: Its an L48 with about 385-400hp. Already equiped with flowmaster 50's.

i don't know much about dynomax headers, but when i put 1 7/8 super competition hooker headers on my 454, it made a world of difference, low end like you wouldn't believe. How do you manage 400hp out of an l48, it must be far from an l48 now!!!!

I would still love some opinions on this matter. The shop said it really wouldn't be worth the whole conversion.... around 800$ when you consider installation, shipping, jet hot coating.... etc. Also.... sound is important to me. Any idea what the two sound like when compared to each other, hooker vs dynomax?? Tks

I'm sure this is a topic that can go on for,,,..i have 3" duel on my 80 ...it produced 390 hp on a dyno, with flowmasters..50...I cut them off.....added...dynomax racemasters bullet afterburners in an 'X' pattern , and gainded 38 hp..P.S.....im runn'en headman headers. If ya have shorty's..you are probly getten as much hp. as ya can, from that setup..i'm sure there are members that could hlp ya here with more indepth truth! |idea|

38hp from just the mufflers, you didn't change ANYTHING else??? how much did those mufflers cost, i've heard that different mufflers produce minimal differences in hp. That's what exhaust pros told me and he seems to know his mufflers.
