How would I know if the air induction door on the hood(73 and newer) is working right? It is supposed to open under throttle. Is there a way to test this that any of you know of?

Reach up under the dash, above the accelerator pedal. You'll feel the switch. With the key on, pull the peg of the switch back...towards the rear of the car. You should hear and feel the door flop. You can also just do this by pushing the accelerator pedal down, with the key on, but you'll need to start the engine afterwards, to burn the fuel you just pumped into it out.
There are a couple of other threads here about the location, and adjustment of the switch, as well as pics.
btw...the cowl induction hood was only used from '73-'76.
