When I slide the heat control from heat to defrost I'm getting no air out of the defrost, all still comming out the floor ports. I don't even hear any audiable change. All the ductwork is connected , no blockage. Is this totaly vacuum opperated? Or mechanical? What should I check first?
Thanks

Mel, I'm not sure on your car, but I think the "Mode" door is vac. operated. It could be a cable, tho.
('77 was when they changed the A/C-Heat controls/console.)
Hopefully some one will have that answer.
Don't you have the factory service manual?

Joel,
No factory service manual
, have a Haynes service manual but it leaves out a lot of details.

Thanks,
